So,

posted something on facebook a while ago that I totally agree, actually, we talked about it lots of times, it's about the "copying artstyle shit":

I really don't like it when artists heavily reference or plain out copy others and open up commissions for a much cheaper price than the original artist. Studying someone's art and taking a couple of features may be fine, but if someone looks at an art piece and can say: "wow this looks oddly similar to so and so's drawing style" that means you should change it up a bit.

um yeah, that's not cool! This makes me unmotivated and depressed! I work hard to get better, and I always try new stuff, add details I didn't use to in my drawings etc... just to make it "different"... y'know, my style isn't the same than it was 3 months ago, and I totally know my commissions aren't the cheapest ones, and that my style isn't the most original one, but I can for sure recognize each detail I put into my drawings! It's unfair, being inspired by someone's art is very different from ''copying''... and when you make money with it, it's even worse... =_=

Sorry gaiz, I just wanted to rant, this just pisses me off so much sometimes...

i liked that you said 'sometimes'. You already know they just exist, wannabes and people trying to find "smart" (easy) ways to make money and they need a small rant but even though they try to be as likable as your art is no one, no one that matters, really cares about them, except you a little, but they aren't you and can't make your awesome art from nothing like you do and hell they might be idiots who don't even realize what they're really doing so who really cares, not you.

I agree with you. Its not a rant at all and you have every right to say something about it if someone is copying your work. I sure as hell would call them out on the spot if I knew someone was copying my work. I dont play when it comes to things like this. Your work is great and you putting all this effort just for someone else to take the credit? Hell no!

I hope that this will stop hopefully soon. If not, I know you have a lot of people who will back you up on this issue.

What is comic art if not an our own expression of life? Is it not our own interpretation of life as we see it? To say that there is a right way to draw this art or to always seek a difference from others, does this not undermine the whole concept of this freedom of expression? Draw life as you see it. Get inspired by artist and the world around you, because all comic art is, is an exaggeration of life. If so, then of course everything will have a similar look. Are we not all drawing the same subjects but in different ways? We are all just 'copying' life.
